2012 in one word: consuminderen

Like many others I like to start a new year with the best intentions to make it better than the last. I usually fail, so I have decided to make a little list of goals for this year, and to set one overarching theme:

consuminderen

Consuminderen is a Dutch term that combines ‘consumeren’ (to consume) with ‘minder’ (less). Consuming less is exactly what I want to do this year. In doing so I hope to become healthier (eating less, exercising more to replace shopping cravings) and have a more sustainable life style (less buying, supporting local economies, eating less meat etc). Of course these things will not make my life exactly what I want it to be (nothing could) but they will be a reminder of the steps I want to take.

So without further ado.. (in alphabetical order):

  1. Allotment goal: use my whole plot
  2. Blog goal: write at least 2 posts per month
  3. Business goal: get Crafty Dutchie store up and running
  4. Campaign goal: support and promote #30daysofbiking
  5. Cycling goal: charity ride – tbc
  6. Food goal: start meat free Mondays
  7. Money goal: save student loan money + £100 every month
  8. Sustainability goal: buy fruit and veg from local sources (or eat from allotment)
  9. Walking goal: walk Snowdon
  10. Weight goal: lose 10kg by Christmas

About Renee

I like riding my bike. I also like crafting. And talking. This probably sums it up.

Whoei! Well done Renee: Gedanken sind der Anfang von Taten. And writing it down helps with implementing them :) Have a great new year! xLieke.
